Discover the charming traditional town hotel in two separate buildings - Gasthaus Schützenhof (green building in the photo) and Hotel Alte Post (yellow building). Situated centrally in a beautiful square in the town of Bischofshofen, which offers a diverse range of shops, cafés, and restaurants and amenities such as a pharmacy, banks/ATMs etc. all within a few minutes’ walk. Bischofshofen is a short coach journey from Alpendorf with some rooms even offering views of the ski slopes.
Embracing the essence of Austrian hospitality, groups are looked after by the vivacious and charismatic Peter, the yodelling hotelier, his wife Traudi, the chef, and their daughters, Ria and Anna. The Ebner family provides school groups with a blend of comfort, character, and adventure. Summed up in a quote from a 9 year old student who stayed at the hotel: “The hotel made me feel really welcome and the staff always had a positive attitude. It was like I was at home with all the joy in the air.”
Both buildings have modern, well-equipped rooms adorned with rustic charm. Rooms are generally between 2 & 6 bedded.
Dinner is a culinary feast where traditional Austrian dishes combined with international cuisine, are a hit with school groups. Breakfast is buffet-style taken in the Alte Post; evening meal is served in one of the many dining rooms and includes 4 courses with a soup starter, followed by a plate of salad, the main course, and a dessert.
Staff can relax in the large wellness area with its large roof terrace, and there are plenty of cosy lounge areas and Austrian "Stuben" where students can chill out. The state-of-the-art conference hall at the back of the Alte Post is perfect for group gatherings, discos and in-house evening activities, and the beautiful wood panelled main dining room in the Schützenhof has a drop-down screen ideal for movie nights.
The world-famous ski jump is just a short walk from the hotel and a must see for school groups.
Gasthof Mühlthaler, Kuchl, Austria

The Mühlthaler is situated in the heart of the charming little town of Kuchl, with its pretty church tower that’s featured in the opening credits of the musical The Sound of Music. Run for six generations by the Seiwald family, the hotel provides a warm and friendly welcome and is a firm favourite with North47 groups.

Hoteliers Elsa, Franz, and their son Pankraz have decades of experience working with school parties and continuously go above and beyond. Staying in this hotel is a joy as well as a cultural education. Elsa encourages students to learn a new German word every day and is always happy to accompany your group on a wholesome walk around the local lake, the Bürgerausee.
Pankraz, the chef, simply cannot fail to impress with his hearty Austrian and international dishes, often with extra touches for staff. Breakfast and dinner are served buffet style, and dinner consists of soup, a choice of two main dishes with sides, a salad buffet and remember to leave room for dessert.
Bedrooms are traditional and spacious, accommodating students in twin to 5 bedded rooms. The hotel has a large attractive dining area, which acts as a social hub for your group, and a separate small public bar.
There are a number of shops in the town, as well as a pizzeria, a pharmacy, and a useful supermarket opposite the hotel. If you are visiting Kuchl in December, you’ll find a very cute Christmas market along the high street featuring nativity scenes with live donkeys - always a hit with the students. Gasthof Mühlthaler provides easy access to and from the motorway that leads to the ski area and to a wealth of evening activities.
Jugendsporthotel Ennstalerhof Altenmarkt, Austria

Jugendsporthotel Ennstalerhof, located on the outskirts of Altenmarkt, is the perfect destination for youth groups looking for plenty of action. Over the past decades, the Scharfetter family has invested in the property with the addition of a new state of the art wing that has transformed this already impressive youth sports hotel into a smart, stylish, and welcoming establishment. Elke and her team run the hotel with a calm efficiency, and nothing is too much trouble.
Students stay in up to 6-bedded rooms, many of which feature balconies with stunning views of the surrounding Altenmarkt-Zauchensee area. Staff rooms are conveniently located on the same floors as the students, allowing for easy supervision.
The restaurant serves nutritious meals with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables. Guests can enjoy a buffet-style continental breakfast, and dinner is a 3-course menu including a vegetarian option and complemented by a fresh salad bar.
We suggest you factor in some time to enjoy the vast range of in-house activities. The Landgasthof Torrenerhof is nestled in a quiet and idyllic location, approx. 2 km from the quaint town of Golling. With very convenient access to the motorway, it is just 30 minutes from the ski resort of Alpendorf and 30 minutes from Salzburg.
This friendly accommodation is run by Hans Lacher, who has been welcoming school groups for decades and his warm, charming and relaxed approach makes everyone feel welcome anad at home straight away. The Torrenerhof is a stone’s throw from the dramatic Golling Waterfalls and just a few minutes by coach from shops and supermarkets in the town.
Facilities include a welcoming reception area, and a spacious restaurant serving locally sourced cuisine. Breakfast and the three-course evening meal are buffet style. Very well suited to large school groups, the Torrenerhof also boasts three large communal rooms which can be used for party, games, or quiz nights. There is a cellar disco that can be used for fancy dress parties and movie nights.
The main hotel consists of 150 beds, and directly next door is a separate building, belonging to the Torrenerhof, consisting of a further 40 beds for smaller groups looking to have their own space. The bedrooms are furnished in traditional Austrian style, many of which feature balconies. All dining and communal areas are in the main building.

The Adler is conveniently located opposite the ancient castle on Golling’s quaint high street where you’ll find supermarkets, ATMs, a pharmacy, gift shops and plenty of lovely cafes.
There is an attractive courtyard tucked behind the hotel that leads to a nature walk called the “Seasons Trail” (Jahreszeiten-Weg), a short route through woodland around the Egelsee Lake, with lovely views looking over the town.
Offering a variety of room types from twin to 8-bedded, all of which have recently been renovated and are spacious and comfortably furnished, the Adler also boasts attractive outdoor terraces overlooking the courtyard.

Gasthof & Hotel Posauner

Situated in a rural location, the Posauner is a stunning hotel that offers school groups a delightful and professional combination of comfort, convenience, fabulous cuisine, and easy access to the Alpendorf slopes, just a short drive away.
With its isolated position, easy access to ski slopes, evening excursions and just 7 km from Schwarzach hospital, Hotel Posauner serves as an ideal base for school groups, accommodating a party of 50 perfectly.
Our groups are made to feel very welcome by the friendly owner, Gerhard Etzer, whose hotel motto is “huck di zuawa,” Austrian dialect that translates roughly as “pull up a chair.”
Rooms are spacious and mostly 2 – 3 bedded with some quads, situated in 2 sections of the hotel, which are linked by a short corridor and via a new second dining room.

This friendly gem of a guesthouse is situated in Alpendorf, offering slopeside accommodation combined with fantastic hospitality, group-friendly cuisine, and comfortable newly renovated rooms with traditional Austrian alpine charm.
Guests can enjoy buffet-style breakfasts and wholesome evening meals at the Forsthof, offering a varied selection of dishes to suit all tastes, cooked with local produce from their own farm including eggs from their own hens.
